Smart Green School Initiative: STEM for Sustainability | FIRST Global Challenge 2026
As part of FIRST Global Challenge 2026 Social Media Challenge #4, Team TEB Innovations conducted an environmental assessment within our school and surrounding community and identified two key sustainability challenges: improper waste disposal and inefficient plant monitoring. To address these issues, our team organized a cleanup activity and developed two STEM-based solutions. The first solution is an Automatic Smart Waste Bin that encourages proper waste disposal through sensor-based automation. The second solution is a Smart Plant Monitoring System using a Soil Moisture Sensor and ESP8266, helping monitor soil conditions and support healthier plant growth. This initiative demonstrates how STEM education, environmental responsibility, and innovation can work together to create cleaner, greener, and more sustainable communities.
